Visitors from Clermont L’Hérault to Patchway Community School in March

Last term Patchway Community School welcomed 45 Year 9 students from our twin school, Collège du Salagou in Clermont L’Hérault, France.

We had a packed day which included a welcome from our Headteacher, working in some of our Year 9 lessons (Art, English, French and Spanish) and a PE session with Mr Forward. The day culminated in a mammoth history lesson with Miss Haines which was part of a joint project that the students had been working on with us before they arrived.

A great day was had by all and there was a real buzz around school. Our Patchway students were very welcoming and some new friendships were made.

We hope that this will be the start of a long relationship with Collège du Salagou and hope that we will be able to offer some of our students the chance for a return trip in the future.

Below is a thank you message from the lead teacher to the Town Council clerk to show how much they enjoyed it too:

“We're now back home, and we would like to thank you, the whole team at Town Council, and of course the Patchway community school for your welcome, help and support.”

“Everyone was very pleased and happy of this day in Patchway. Many pupils told me they were particularly happy to have been able to communicate with English teenagers, thanks so much for having organized everything on your side, it was really appreciated.”
