At the meeting of Patchway Town Council’s Finance Committee on Tuesday 9th April 2024, it was agreed by a majority of Councillors to award the first two community grants for the 2024/2025 financial year.
The first award was made to Patchway Community Association to assist with the maintenance costs of the large centre within the heart of Patchway, on Rodway Road. The grant will assist the centre in meeting the high standards that it has set itself and is a commitment to our community, both young and old, with a large award of £5000.
The second award was made to Turtle CYP (formerly the South Gloucestershire Playscheme) for assistance in running their summer playscheme for children up to the age of 11 in Patchway. The award of £2500 has been made to support this completely free scheme and further confirm Patchway Town Council’s commitment to youth work in Patchway.
Upon the award of £7500 in community grants, the Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence stated ‘I am pleased that due to the financial prudence of Councillors and Officers we have been able to fund two organisations who are embedded in the heart of our community. The funding represents a commitment to our community, that we want to support progressive and dynamic organisations, who provide a service or facility for the people of Patchway’.
