Patchway Town Council is saddened by the recent passing of former Councillor Patrick Cottrell. Patrick served on Patchway Town Council for nearly 40 years and through his time oversaw many positive changes and community improvements for the town.
Patrick recently resigned from the Council in November 2024 to spend more time with his wife and family, and has been missed in the Council chamber. Patrick was always passionate in debates on issues that affected his town, and placed the residents at the heart of his work as a councillor.
Mayor of Patchway Cllr Dayley Lawrence said, ‘Patrick Cottrell has been a true public servant for the people and community of Patchway for many, many years and his passing leaves a hole in the fabric of the town. As a town councillor since 1988, Patrick personified what a great councillor should be. Everyone at Patchway Town Council sends their love and condolences to Patrick's family’.
