Patchway Remembers

On Sunday 20th November 2022, the community of Patchway gathered to remember those that lost their lives serving our country.

A short parade was held which set off from The Tumps and ended in Norman Scott Park at the war memorial. Delegates from Patchway Town Council including the Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence, Cllr Sam Scott, Cllr Roger Loveridge and the Town Clerk, Jack Turner joined the parade along with veterans, representatives of the Royal British Legion, the Chairman of South Gloucestershire Council, Jack Lopresti MP. Cadets from local branches of the army, navy and air forces, as well as the Scouts and Rainbows.

The parade arrived in Scott Park to crowds of people, who had all gathered for the remembrance service. Readings were read by delegates as well as everyone impeccably served a two minute silence. Once the service had finished, delegates were invited to lay wreaths on behalf of their organisation or on behalf of those who are no longer with us.

A big thank you was given to Steve Goodfellow, who helped to organise the event this year as well as everyone else who played their part in making this a successful community event.
