Gautham Manchikalapati started his cricketing journey with Patchway Cricket Club by joining in the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) national programme ‘All Stars and Dynamos’. He then started playing for the club when he was 9 years old.
Gautham was very passionate about learning the game and targeting the next level to represent Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. This required facilities to train and practice outside the Club's usual training schedule.
The initiative by Patchway town council to offer free use of the Cricket Nets at Scott Park for Under 14 (U14) children from the town was perfectly timed. It gave Gautham an opportunity to practice and train more by booking the nets through Patchway Town Council.
Gautham went to the selection trials and was selected for the Under 10 County Age Group of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. The free Nets use has been very useful throughout the season and Gautham is now into the summer Under 11 squad for 2023.
We thank Patchway town council for providing this facility for children to learn and perform.
