Patchway Town Council were extremely saddened to learn of the passing of former Mayor and Town Councillor, Michael Grotzke. Michael served between the years of 1999 – 2019 on Patchway Town Council and in those twenty years made an impact on trying to improve Patchway for all who lived here. He was a kind and committed person and will be sorely missed.

Mike was Vice-Chairman of Patchway Town Council from 2006 – 2008 as well as 2011 – 2014. Mike also served as the Town’s Chairman and Mayor from 2014 – 2015. In 2019, Mike stood down from Patchway Town Council but still continued to take an involved role in the community of Patchway.

On Mr Grotzke, current Mayor of Patchway Cllr Dayley Lawrence remarked that ‘Michael was an extremely committed member of Patchway Town Council and served his community well over 20 years. Although I did not personally know him, other members as well as people in the community had taken to his extremely committed nature and he always strived for the best for all of our residents’.

Patchway Town Council’s Book of Remembrance will be open for signing until 4:30pm each weekday, for anyone who wishes to leave a message in remembrance.
