In recognition of the long and outstanding service given to the community, Patchway Town Council has used its powers under the Local Government Act 1972 to confer the title of Honorary Freeman on Mr Doug Coles.
Doug is the sixth person to receive this honour and was presented with a certificate and commemorative gift by Mayor of Patchway, Councillor Jon Butler on Tuesday 16th November 2021.
Remarking about Doug’s voluntary work, Cllr Butler observed that Doug had worked an untold amount of voluntary hours as an officer to Patchway Sports and Social Club and has always been reliable when communicating with the Town Council.
