Half Term fun for everyone at The Community Hub

Updated: Feb 23, 2023

The community hub at The Casson Centre on Rodway Road threw open its doors for the half term week in style!

On Monday 13th February, the room was packed with children and their parents as they took part in Valentines themed arts and crafts. There was a lot of LOVE in the air with cards, wreaths and other crafts were made. Over 40 people crammed into the centre to enjoy the warm offering including tea, coffee, snacks and a good old fashioned natter with friends, old and new!

On Valentines Day, the hub offered up some air clay modelling which went down a treat with the kids and even the adults! This messy activity provided a perfect present for mums and dads from their child!

On Wednesday 15th February, over 40 people packed into the hub again to take part in arts and crafts. Facepainting with Linda went down a real treat with everyone getting involved!

Thursday and Friday were the days when the teddy bears had their picnics! Over 80 residents attended the final two days of the hub’s half term activities with a traditional teddy bear’s picnic taking place! There was bunting galore and a backdrop for themed pictures! Everyone had gotten right into the spirit and loved being part of something special.

Over the week, Isobel, Roland and their team of trusty volunteers had given out over 170 free lunches for all residents who have attended as well as plenty of cups of tea and friendly chat!

On the successful week, Cllrs Isobel and Roland Walker had this to say, ‘It has been so heart-warming to share this week with so many local people. The cost of living crisis has hit us all but in true Patchway style, the community has once again come together and united. This week has been a lot of fun and we can’t wait to keep our community hub going as the beating heart of Patchway’
