A small group of Patchway Town Councillors were invited for a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the set for the new adaption of Bernard Cornwall's The Winter King, which is being filmed here in Patchway.
The Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence was joined by fellow Town Councillors, Cllr Roland Walker, Cllr Isobel Walker, Cllr Pete Knight and Cllr Elaine Martin and they were shown around the area by the production team for Bad Wolf Productions.
The Winter King follows the story of Arthur Pendragon who, according to legend, led the defence of Britain against Saxon invaders in the late 5th and 6th centuries. It's believed the set would form the courtyard to Caer Cadarn - a fortress which plays a key part in the show.
The Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence, had this to say on the visit, ‘We are extremely lucky to have been invited to the set of The Winter King which is being filmed in Patchway. The tour of the area was amazing and we cannot wait to see the finished product. It is a big opportunity for Patchway to have a company like Bad Wolf Productions filming in the area and I am excited to see where this opportunity leads.’
