On Tuesday 13th June 2023, Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence presented two local community groups with their Mayoral Charity awards for 2022/2023.
The Mayor’s Charity fund was initiated through Patchway Town Council and is set up to benefit local groups in Patchway. The Mayor chooses the charities he wishes to benefit from the fund, which comes from donations from our wonderful residents.
For the 2022/2023 financial year, the Mayor chose The 2nd Patchway Scout Group and The Link Club, who both received £578 for their groups. This money has been raised through Patchway Town Council’s events throughout year as well as a donation from
The Town Council.
On presenting the cheques the Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence, has this to say ‘I am extremely
delighted to be able to award such a substantial sum of money towards these two local groups. Both of these groups really benefit our residents who are younger and those who have additional needs and I am pleased to see that the generous donations we have received go to good causes. These groups are embedded into our Patchway community and I look forward to seeing how these groups will spend their award!’
